Group Bookings for the Holiday Cottages
Cranmer Country cottages provide a perfect venue for group accommodation appealing to groups of friends or family groups for reunions and celebrations, either for long weekends or week long off season breaks.
The cottages’ flexible accommodation with their large comfortable open plan living areas provide ideal meeting points where friends can cook eat and socialise together whilst sleeping arrangements are in individual private cottages. For many a group weekend away provides time to catch up with old friends or an opportunity to celebrate a special occasion in a relaxing environment with plenty of space for children to enjoy and parents to unwind.
During Christmas and New Year the cottages are decorated with Christmas trees and lights for a truly festive atmosphere. Organic Norfolk bronze or black turkeys can be supplied by local producers directly to your cottage and other gastronomic delights can be ordered ahead from specialist shops locally in Burnham Market or Wells. At other times of the year exhilarating nearby beach walks followed by a dip in the pool can provide a luxurious weekend break.
• The swimming pool is great fun for both children and adults alike and is open daily from 7.30am in the morning. The games room provides opportunity for fun table tennis, darts or pool competitions; we provide a lockable bike store for cycling enthusiasts, alternatively cycles can be hired from Huff and puff in nearby Wells. Huff and Puff can also organise special group cycle rides locally www.cyclenorfolk.co.uk. From summer 2006 we should have 2 hard tennis courts available for tennis tournaments (TBC).
• Guests may like to book a massage (in advance of your stay).
• For Golf enthusiasts there is a golf driving range within 5 minutes drive from Cranmer where lessons with a golf professional are available (if booked in advance). www.fakenhamdrivingrange.co.uk
• Young children may enjoy a party at the dinosaur park approx 20 minutes drive http://www.dinosaurpark.co.uk/
• Older children and adults may enjoy a trip to extreme adventure – high ropes course in woodland near Weasenham, approx 20 mins drive between Fakenham and Swaffham. The course must be pre booked and they can cater for barbeque parties as part of the booking.
To celebrate a special occasion local caterers and photographers can be booked in advance alternatively we can recommend a local supplier to deliver oven to table home cooked food.
Group accommodation is usually available off season or during the following periods: Christmas & New Year, May half term week (peak) or throughout January to June or September through to December excluding school holidays when we have many regular visitors.
Owl & Wagtail
As communicating cottages, Owl and Wagtail provide 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large kitchen dining area with gas cooker, Rayburn cooker microwave and fridge freezer and a sitting area with wood burning stove. Sleeping 9 plus travel cot or z bed in bedroom 1 of Owl. Baby listeners work between the cottages.
Swallow and Woodpecker
Swallow and Woodpecker provide a large kitchen living area in Swallow with gas cooker, Rayburn cooker, fridge freezer microwave and wood burning stove in the living area. Dining table accommodates 8-10. There are 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms between the two cottages. Baby listeners work between the cottages. Sleeping 11(2 children in bunk beds bedroom 3 woodpecker) plus travel cot in bedroom 1 of Swallow.
Tern Cottage
Tern cottage sleeps 4 + 1 on Z bed and is situated between the 2 pairs of cottages (see site plan)
Grounds
Each cottage has a terrace for barbeques and dining alfresco. Beyond the terraces there is ample space to kick a ball and play team games.
Unfortunately we cannot accept pets due to allergies and do not accept hen or stag parties, family groups and mixed age groups only. We require a security deposit for all group bookings.
