SHORT BREAKS |
Our cottages are open all year round and we offer short weekend & midweek breaks between October and May, out of school holidays with some other availability during late September and early June at short notice. For special occasions we can organise flowers champagne & handmade chocolates to be left in your cottage, also home cooked oven to table meals or even a caterer.
We are happy to discuss any special requirements you may have to make your short break stay with us as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. Guests are personally welcomed by us as we live on site, or by our manager Nigel, and there is someone on hand even during weekends and the quieter seasonal weeks.
North Norfolk has plenty to discover at any time of the year whatever the weather. Cranmer county cottages provide an ideal base for a peaceful weekend break or midweek break with plenty to see and do locally and excellent on site facilities to keep children and adults alike amused. When the weather is inclement enjoy a morning swim followed by cooking a leisurely breakfast in the Rayburn (Swallow & Owl). We can supply locally sourced breakfast hampers on request. Alternatively enjoy the last of the evening sun with a game of tennis on our all weather courts followed by supper in the local pub. Why not come with a group of friends and share the cottages sociable dining and living areas with the extensive grassy play paddock for children to run off their energy. Maybe book a tennis coach or swimming lessons.
Friday to Monday off peak weekends are popular for special family occasions or just stress busting breaks (Except during peak summer and school holiday periods). Monday to Friday escapes are good value, with 4 nights for less than the price of 3 night weekend breaks. Out of season the countryside and towns are quieter, the beaches deserted, pubs and restaurants are not as booked and we tend to be less busy, you may well find that you have the pool and tennis courts to yourselves.
For a special occasion or gourmet weekend why not book a good local restaurant, this may take some advance planning especially if you have the excellent Galton Blackiston’s Michelin starred Morston Hall in mind. There are also several other good restaurants not too far from here: The Victoria at Holkham, The White Horse at Brancaster and the Hoste Arms at Burnham Market. For gourmet cooks, Norfolk has a wealth of good local produce from organically grown fruit and vegetables, locally grazed meats, locally caught fish and seafood, handmade Norfolk cheeses and handmade chocolates. Our kitchens are very well equipped with both a Rayburn and gas cooker in 2 cottages. You can pre-order delicacies before you come or just enjoy seeking out the specialist shops when you arrive.
We offer late availability discounts on short breaks and full week bookings when booked 2 weeks prior to arrival subject to availability.
